So I rebuilt

I didn't fix things overnight by no means, our money stories ain't a quick fix

I started small.

Began freelancing as a bookkeeper for my brother and his electrical business based in Nottingham, got a taste of entrepreneurship and really started to learn hands on how money impacts business owners.

This time I wasn't dealing with a client in an accounting firm, it was personal. The numbers became meangingful cause the success of my brothers business meant everything to me.

And that's when I realised that some accountants don't actually CARE for their clients, most of the time don't even know what actuallythey do.

I even remembered how accountants made ME feel when I asked genuine questions to help me grow. Patronised and shunned as if I should've known better. That's what made me start to hate the industry. I'm a caring person, wanted to thrive and wanted the clients to thrive too.

It was about the STORIES to me & really helping the clients understand their story.

And so I started to learn more about how the numbers can tell stories, building my confidence in running a business, how the numbers can be interpreted, so we don't feel afraid of them & get in control of them.

When money becomes more than just the numbers

It impacts your confidence, your decisions, your mental health, literally your whole life.

I saw it not just in myself, but in my family too.

Watching loved ones experience stress because of money made it very clear to me:

  • This isn’t just about business.

  • This is about wellbeing.

And I need to use the skills I'd built in accounting to change that narrative!!

What I realised during that time is that financial struggle isn't just about the numbers!

Bit of background

My life fell apart when I made a huge disclosure about the abuse I endured at school, what happened for a number of years after was a complete mental breakdown.

I lost my home, my job, my relationship and any sense of stability I had.

I found myself starting again from scratch, living with my grandparents, trying to rebuild with almost nothing, financially, emotionally and mentally.

And at that point, money wasn’t just something I didn’t understand, despite my career in accounting, it was something that felt heavy, stressful and overwhelming. It was shit.

Wanderfully Balanced was actually built from my rock bottom

Your Money Mentor

Arms up bobbie
Jargon busted, numbers dusted by someone trusted

And so I built Wanderfully
Balanced Ltd

And here's whyyyy

As I started to take on more clients of my own, I kept seeing the same thing over and over again.

Business owners weren’t struggling because they weren’t capable.

They were struggling because no one had ever shown them how to understand their finances in a way that actually made sense to them.

They understandably felt ashamed, embarrassed, behind and like the "should" know better.

But how could they know better if they weren't taught otherwise?

And that's why, for me I believe that financial empowerment should be accessible to all.

The education system let many of our generations down, for me in multiple ways, and it doesn't mean we blame and remain.

We can REGAIN!

Regain control over how we understand finances, in a way that works for US and our brains. Cause everyone learns differently right?

In my world, you don't have to know it all, you just have to be willing to learn and start small.

Why Wanderfully Balanced is different to a big accountancy firm?

I've built Wanderfully Balanced from the ground up myself. I know EXACTLY what it feels like to look at your bank account and have no idea if you're actually making money or what you actually NEED to know from your numbers. Or what you actually need to be doing as a business owner.

That's exactly why I built out the 3 phases of a business owners financial journey from Wandering to Exploring & Elevating your numbers. Built to literally meet YOU where YOU are at, not just a simple processing of receipts & ticking a box.

Why women in biz should consider a bookkeeper now?

The women I work with often say they wished they'd sorted their finances sooner and not just relied on their accountant telling them how well (or not so well) they're doing once a year AFTER the time has passed.

They wished they'd held themselves more accountable to get comfortable with looking & understanding the numbers regularly, so that they can make better informed decisions.

Cause a surprise tax bill after the year has passed ain't peace of mind for anyone.

Let's get you clarity over your finances now and prep ahead of your tax bill, know your numbers now and don't make your next big financial decision in the dark.

Not just organised books.
Not just numbers done.
But clarity.
Confidence.
And a completely different relationship with your money.
